Effects, or FXs, are the special topping on a cake. With the base 3D models a lot can be done, but FXs add the special tone needed to evoke more emotions. They make the punches feel impactful and the action more dangerous. In Strings, the FXs made the world more mysterious. The fog gave a heightened environment using particles and real-world physics, and the strings played a pivotal role in driving the story forward. Simply put, FXs enhance the animation beyond keyframes, merging computation with storytelling.
